Next there's Krita which will have better vector support although even so I doubt it will be better than Inkscape.įinally there's Synfig which is actually for vector animations. Once you draw the line you can convert selected object's stroke to path (it's a button & CTRL + ALT + C) and then you can move the points around to play with thickness so my suggestion would be to use draw freehand lines tool and do all tweaks there to place it just the way you want and then do the conversion to path and play with thickness. Well you could give Inkscape a try, it's only vector tho' and it doesn't support thickness per point on the line, it does have smooth option (I'm talking about the draw freehand lines tool. I watched a video on youtube about this digitizer (I guess just regular pen tool) in SAI and I guess why you like it especially it's because of the line thickness per point feature. There are actually a few good alternatives I'd say. ![]()
